Sunset Winds Designs LLC was founded out of a desire to give homeowners unique living spaces. My passion for the trade started as a mason’s apprentice under my father, Mike Maier, as a young child. After losing my father at 21, I embarked on a quest to commemorate him through masonry work.\u00a0 Part of this journey involved seeking out training from other talented tradesmen while searching for a special Mason to continue training under. I continued natural stone masonry training under a landscape designer\/architect named Jim Robinson, who created Japanese-themed healing gardens in Oregon and across the country as the owner of Daichi Landscape. This apprenticeship led me to work on high-profile projects for\u00a0Hoichi Kurisu of Kurisu International on a few different projects. This experience sharpened my skills, and exposed me to amazingly talented designers and masons who i learned alot of my skills from.\u00a0 After the birth of my first child, I decided to go into business for myself under the name Maier Masonry. This was a dream of mine, and I enjoyed working with clients to achieve the goals they had. In 2017, I closed the business to help build a rental company we own, and began remodeling our house we purchased as well as performing repairs on our rental properties. I realized at that point that the quality of my work carpentry work was worth sharing with others. Having worked with talented carpenters, masons, and designers, Sunset Winds Designs LLC brings experience from multiple trades. We specialize in creating artistic design elements in outdoor spaces, including water features, patios, walls, rock setting, pathways, waterfalls, sculpture, and much more.
